7 earth friendly ideas for arts and crafts ♻️ 🎨

Earth Day is my favorite holiday because it’s a day to celebrate our planet, and a reminder to take care of our mother.
Also, earth without ART would be EH… boring!

I love thinking of ways to use ordinary items in new ways- AKA upcycling.
upcycling is reusing an item in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.

All of the ideas below highlight how we can use various items in new ways when being creative. Enjoy!

1. Egg cartons and other food containers with circular bottoms make great paint palettes.

2. Cereal boxes and similar food packaging boxes are great for making lots of fun and useful items.

Bookmarks, notebooks, and magazine holders to name a few.

3. Plastic fruit containers make great little bins for holding various items.

Cut off the top and add some color. I suggest painting the outside of the bins to get the most vibrant look.

4. Yogurt cups and containers are great for holding water to clean your brushes when you’re painting.

Painting can be messy. You need to have water nearby to clean your brushes. Yogurt containers are a great option for this.

5. Magazines can be used for making decorative art and other useful items.

Vision boards allow you to envision your future and your desires. There are a bunch of crafty ways to use rolled magazine pages including making a pencil holder (with a toilet paper roll) or wall art, like this bear below. 😍

6. Bottle caps can easily be turned into magnets! This is personally one of my favorite projects 😃

Create your own funky designs with acrylic paint and attach a magnet when you’re done. Super easy. Super fun.

7. Make your own wrapping paper on the back of paper bags!

Add your own special touch to gifts with one of a kind wrapping paper. You could paint a picture, write their name, share a happy message. There are endless possibilities!
